Almost two years ago, Black Hoe Recordings was launched and took up the business of the darker, heavier and harsher side of electronic music (especially drum'n'bass). Time has passed, and label has got a couple of releases. Countless positive feedbacks and undiminished trust by upcoming producers prove: there is reason of existence of this kind of intention! We are so proud that lots of Hungarian producers started or was released on Black Hoe (like Mystification, Numek, Unabomber, Mastif (aka Stealth), Zero Method, Range, Ekaros or Dashcraft to name some of them). And do not forget about the others...! After this plentiful period we wanted to step ahead and now, our mission is accomplished: Black Hoe Alimony is here!

Like the original label, Alimony is still digital with a small difference. Our releases can be bought at better virtual music stores like Beatport, Juno, Chemical Records, Digital Tunes and Ithinkmusic. We endeavor to collect tunes for Alimony which are not acceptable only for those who live in the dark but others who are walking on the bright side. Besides this, we aim at presenting something new and different, some hybrid sound.

With our first release we would like to determine our line of bearing: the epic piano melody, the amen madness and hardcore techno beats of Show Me How To Cry touch our future. We believe that on the 28th of January, 2008, the open of Alimony will be remarkable and You will love it just like we do!

With the first release on Black Hoe Alimony its line of bearing is determined: the epic piano melody, the amen madness and hardcore techno beats of Show Me How To Cry touch the label's future!


BHA001 - Mystification feat. Blu 3 and Kharon - Frank / Chosen For Destruction



In contempt of signing this release with one, BHA001 is not the first release on Black Hoe's sublabel, Alimony. After the 'tease release' (which was a one-track-coming-out with 'Show Me How To Cry') the ambitious marching continues with two tunes now which had been scored also by Mystification with two collaborations at this time. Producermates - Blu 3 and Kharon - can show up in both compositions wonderfully: while the heavy and enormous 'Frank' is loud by those 4/4 kicks then the epic 'Chosen For Destruction' is meandering between different music styles in a low key.


BHA002 - Mastif - Space Outpost / Warcraft



Mastif's third release on Black Hoe (the first two were released on the free Black Hoe Recordings: BH017 and BH027) is a masterpiece! World created by Universal Project and Vicious Circle raises: rolling drum sequences, heavy and twisty subbasses, mentasm sounds and other frightening voices feature all of these two tunes called 'Space Outpost' and 'Warcraft'.

Who is Code Blue?



During the 80’s digital revolution, Andrew began to discover that computers &
synthesizers were a more natural and efficient way to express himself. He began
programming an early digital Yamaha synthesizer and by the year 1985 computers
and the possibilities of creative technology had captured his imagination.

For a number of years under the alias Code Blue Andrew produced scary drum and bass
with several releases recognized around the world and most notably, his latest
entitled Graveyard Twist and Headstone Shuffle that relaunched the legendary German
label Position Chrome. Code Blue has been played by the like of The Panacea, Audio,
Limewax and Raiden and more recently Richard D. James of Aphex Twin ended his set
at this years Coachella with Graveyard Twist two years after it’s release and this
set has had 67,000 downloads. Andrew has forthcoming releases planned on Position
Chrome as well as a much anticipated release of Apocalyptica on Black Hoe Recordings
in July 2008.

Recently Andrew has been branching out with the electro rock sounds under the alias
Supercycle and has been turning a lot of heads by his unique groundbreaking gritty
production and has caught the attention of Canadian’s Mstrkft.

Andrew was chosen to participate in the 2007 Guild Of Film composers gcfc.ca mentorship
program, where he completed his mentorship under Vancouver based composer Terry Frewer.

Andrew is capable of bringing imagination to life in a way that makes what has been
traditionally viewed as sounding un-natural or electronic sound organic and more human
than human.

In the last few days unfortunatelly there was a server collapse. You might have noticed that Black Hoe site, forum, download and upload pages, e-mails (migu@blackhoe-recordings.com and demo@blackhoe-recordings.com) were not available. Everything seems to be fixed now, but data from the last month has disappeared.

Throttler is here with two interesting and irregular stuffs - a bit different
tunes what You can accept from this Hellenic export. 'No Hold Back' is a solid
techy choppage-kind track with huge power in it. 'Pulses' is a digital sledgehammer
which refers to an ancient era of hardstep and a possible way to the hardcorish
drum'n'bass. This release is another proof which states: there is reason of
existence of oddish breaks and drums!

Who is Throttler?



Mr Foskolos aka Throttler begun as a raver back in 1992 with techno and breaks.
He was firstly influenced by uk hardcore and early jungle producers and bands like
Prodigy, Acen, Messiah, DJ Hype and more. The dark times of 1997, drew his attention
to drum'n'bass and artists like DJ SS, Dom & Roland, Ed Rush and Trace became his
“sound” idols at that time. In 1999 he started spinning as a DJ as an amateur at
local parties and at the same time worked as an employee at a local record store.
He started music production in 1999 with amateur equipment. Now uses “the holy trinity”,
Cubase, Reason, Wavelab, which haunts his home studio. Mostly produces a mixture of
dark, hard and fast, constantly alternating music, made of notorious landscapes and
techy dancefloor breakbeat treatment.

In 2004 he gets announced “drum n bass producer of the year” in the “Unofficial Greek
Drum n Bass Awards”, and at that time, more active than ever, starts with his mates
the Nation Of Distortion Crew, a crew devoted to underground electronic music. The
crew has begun a series of events known as “Fright Nights”, which have already reached
number 3 in only one year. At the same time he started spinning in net radio shows.
He has performed live at “Fright Night” events part 1, 2 (‘04) and 3 (‘05), and at
internet radio shows such as “Drumbeats pt2” (‘04), “Break Alert” (‘05) and “Crew
Connection Radio” (‘05). He had slots on “Witness The Sickness” and on “CC-Radio”
net radio stations as his own weekly shows.

Now he has got signed at “Obseti Records”, “Chase Records”, “Exegene” net labels,
“Darkstep.org”, “ISO:LATION TANK", "Killing Sheep", "Alphacut", "Manticore", "Sustained"
and "No Room For Talent". He is a member of “C8”, “East Coast DnB Trooperz” and “Nation
Of Distortion”. The press like Knowledge and Soundmaker also got attracted to his
productions - both the solo stuff and his collaborations with female vocalist Lowbss in
their common project The Throttler & Lowbss Project (their songs were released on
Independenza).
